What should I do in case of an incident related to personal data, information requests, deindexing requests or rectification requests?

In the event of an incident, you must send a request to the Data Protection Officer, specifying the type of request, the information affected and the details of the incident. You must provide sufficient information to enable us to identify you, as well as any other relevant information to enable us to respond to your request or to take the necessary steps to deal with the incident promptly. You may be asked to provide additional proof of identity. Incident procedures are conducted in complete confidentiality.

Why do we need to collect your information?

Punto Canada collects data from its clients in order to communicate its services, for service operations and accounting purposes. In addition, in order to apply for a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), it is necessary to ensure the eligibility and legitimacy of the business. The LMIA application itself is a document that requires information about the employer who wishes to hire a foreign worker, in order to assess the merits of the application.


What data do we collect about you during the recruitment and immigration process?

As part of your eligibility screening and EIMT application, you will be asked to provide the following information:

- The company representative's full name, an email address, and a telephone number.

- The company's mailing address.

- Bank details and credit card number.

- The company's registration with the Quebec Registry of Companies.

- Collective agreement, if applicable.

- Financial statements (T2 Relay 100 and Relay 125).

- Job offers on the Emploi Québec online placement site.

- The standard employment contract for the position to be filled.


How do we collect your data?

We collect your data through our business platform Punto Canada and through our CRM. Customer data is stored in a secure environment that complies with current legislation regarding security and confidentiality. Data will be automatically destroyed at the end of the prescribed retention period or when no longer subject to consent.

- We use the IP telephony system to communicate with you and manage voice data and in Teams for selection interviews with candidates.

- We use the Office 365 cloud package to host your data and for our messaging systems.

- We use an electronic signature software.


Who has access to your data?

Access to clients' personal data is limited to internal managers of the client's file, such as recruitment specialists, project managers, immigration experts and members of management.


With whom will we share your information?

When offering a job to a temporary foreign worker, your professional data will be shared with both federal and provincial levels of government; EDSC / Service Canada (Employment and Social Development Canada), the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration (MIFI) as well as Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).


How long do we keep your data?

7 years. Customers can give their consent for us to store their data for a longer period for tracking purposes.


Is it possible for your information to be communicated outside Quebec?

At the recruitment stage, only the name of the company is communicated during interviews with foreign candidates. Your immigration-related information is communicated to Punto Canada's project managers, recruiters, and immigration experts, who may be located outside Canada. In addition, the head office of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is in Ottawa.

Candidate Data

Why do we need to collect your data?

Dot Canada collects personal data from candidates for the purpose of considering and interviewing them for employment in Canada, offering coaching sessions and creating a web profile for Canadian employers. In addition, all or part of the personal data may be translated into French and English for publication by employers.


What information do I need to register on the Punto Canada site?

- First and last name

How long do we keep your data?

36 months from the collection of the documents, or 7 years from the beginning of the employment relationship with the employer in Canada.


How do we collect your data?

We collect your data through our Point Canada platform and through our application management platforms and through our CRM. Documents containing personal data are transmitted through a secure link to our CRM.


Who has access to your data?

Access to candidates' personal information is limited to Punto Canada project managers and recruiters.


With whom will we share your data?

Only relevant information related to the promotion of the candidate's profile will be shared with employers.

In the event that a job is arranged with a Canadian employer, what data do we collect about you during the immigration process?

Data collected to apply for a labour market impact assessment (LMAI)


Why do we need to collect your data?

We need to collect your personal data to study your profile and assess your suitability for employment in Canada. The study of your profile is a prerequisite for obtaining a job offer and therefore a prerequisite for the LMIA application submitted by your prospective employer. In addition, personal data, in whole or in part, may be translated into French and English for publication by employers and file analysis by the Canadian authorities.


What data is required for an EITT application?

The following information must be included in an EIMT application:

- Full name, telephone number and email address; Full name, telephone number and email address

- Up to date curriculum vitae.

- Identity documents: passport with photo and expiration date, work permit if applicable.

Specifically DSC / Service Canada (Employment and Social Development Canada), the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration (MIFI), as well as Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).


Is it possible for your data to be shared outside Quebec?

Your immigration data is shared with Punto Canada's project managers and immigration experts. They may be located outside Canada.


Data collected for the purposes of the Certificat d'Acceptation du Québec (CAQ)


Why do we need to collect your information?

Once you have received a job offer, you must complete a Temporary Selection Request (TSR) in order to remain in Quebec for the duration of your employment contract. The information collected is the same as for an EIMT application.


What information is required to apply for a CAQ?

- Temporary Selection Request (TSR) A 0506 CF.

- Passport with photo and expiration date; Copy of any qualifications obtained; Copy of any qualifications obtained

- Copy of degrees obtained.

- Transcript of grades.

- Previous work permit, if applicable.

- Certificate of employment.

- Updated curriculum vitae.

- Work contract signed with your future employer.

Is it possible for your data to be shared outside Quebec?

Your immigration data is shared with Punto Canada's project managers and immigration experts. They may be located outside Canada.


Data collected for obtaining a work permit


Why do we need to collect your data?

The work permit is the last mandatory step to be able to work legally in Canada. Obtaining this permit is conditional upon certain checks that require your personal data and certain information about your family.


What information is required to apply for a work permit?

- Work permit application form IMM 1295.

- Passport.

- Biometric data / photo and fingerprints.

- Curriculum vitae.

- Application for medical examination by an affiliated Canadian physician.

- Employment contract including salary for the position offered.

- IMM 5645 family information form (full name, marital status, place of residence, occupation).

- Letter of acceptance from a school for the children, if applicable.

- If you wish to use the services of a representative, you must provide your full name and date of birth, as well as the name and mailing address of your representative.

- Criminal record.


How do we collect your data?

We collect your data by email and through our application management platforms and CRM. Documents containing personal data are transmitted through a secure link to our CRM. In addition, certain data such as biometrics and a medical exam will be required, but managed directly and exclusively by IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada).


Who has access to your data?

Your personal data is consulted by Punto Canada's recruiters and immigration experts.


Who do we share your data with?

Documents required to apply for a work permit are processed by Punto Canada immigration experts and shared with the IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada).


Is it possible for your data to be communicated outside Quebec?

Your immigration data will be routed through Punto Canada’s project managers and immigration experts, who may contract outside Canada. IRCC headquarters are located in Ottawa.

Minors under 14 years of age

The consent of any minor under 14 years of age must be given by the person holding parental authority or by a guardian. As specified by the Government of Québec, a person may be appointed guardian upon the death of a minor's parents or because of their inability to care for the child. The guardian must look after the child's welfare or manage the child's assets.

Bereavement Process

Point Canada will disclose to the spouse or next of kin of a deceased person any personal information it holds about that person, if knowledge of the information may assist the applicant in his or her bereavement process and the deceased person has not put on record in writing his or her refusal to grant this right of access to the extent that the integrity of the estate has been validated.
